Lawrence J. Cohen
Partner & CEO, Reverence Real Estate
Lawrence Cohen co-founded Reverence Real Estate in 2024. Prior to Reverence, Mr. Cohen founded Pembroke, a fully integrated real estate investor owner-operator, in 1992 after spending three years as Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co. and Bear Stearns Real Estate Group, Inc. Before joining Bear Stearns in 1989, Mr. Cohen served as a First Vice President in the Real Estate Group of Integrated Resources Inc., where he was responsible for the acquisition, financing and asset management of commercial real estate. Mr. Cohen began his career as an attorney with the New York law firm of Proskauer Rose. He is a cum laude graduate of the Syracuse University School of Management and received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. Mr. Cohen is a member of the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York and the bar of both New York and Florida. He serves on the Board of Directors’ Executive Committee and is the Treasurer of the Birthright Israel Foundation. In addition, Mr. Cohen chairs the Real Estate Optimization Committee and serves on the Finance Committee for the UJA Federation of New York.
Benjamin Young
Partner / Head of Real Estate, Reverence Real Estate
Benjamin Young joined Reverence Capital in 2025. Prior to joining Reverence, Mr. Young served as Chief Investment Officer at Buckingham, where he oversaw business growth and managed debt and equity strategies. Prior to Buckingham, Mr. Young spent nine years as Managing Director at Blackrock in New York, playing a key role as a senior member in the $100 billion Real Assets Group. As Head of Blackrock’s U.S. Real Estate Private Equity business, he led the growth and management of $11 billion in investments spanning core, value-add and opportunistic investments, and launched the firm’s first closed-end, value-add fund.
Prior to Blackrock, Mr. Young was at Strategic Value Partners, a $12 billion private equity and hedge fund focused on distressed real estate debt and private equity. As Managing Director, he oversaw the global real estate group’s investments in North America, Western Europe, and Japan.
Earlier in his career, at Deutsche Bank/Bankers Trust, he was Global Portfolio Manager – Global Real Estate Private Equity Group, responsible for $7 billion of gross real estate assets and capital raising. He began his career at Kidder, Peabody & Co. as a Financial Analyst – Real Estate Group.
Mr. Young holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School, Columbia University, and a B.S. Degree in Economics, with a dual major in Finance and Real Estate from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Harris Bedell
Director of Acquisitions, Reverence Real Estate
Harris Bedell is responsible for leading all acquisition and disposition efforts. His experience spans the acquisition of multifamily real estate, development opportunities and debt investments. Previously, Mr. Bedell had been with Pembroke since 2016 and prior to that, he worked in consulting at EY, with a concentration on advising overseas clients investing in the U.S. Mr. Bedell also worked for a family office leading capital markets and acquisitions. Mr. Bedell received a B.S. from Syracuse’s Whitman School of Management and a Master’s from Baruch University.
David Goldban
General Counsel, Reverence Real Estate
David Goldban oversees all legal matters, including those related to transaction structure, sales and acquisitions, financing, development and construction, joint ventures, leasing, land use, risk management and litigation, human resources and regulatory compliance matters. Mr. Goldban has over 20 years of experience handling complex real estate transactions in both business and legal capacities. Previously, Mr. Goldban had been with Pembroke since 2013 and prior to that, worked in-house at several private and public real estate companies and was a real estate associate at the law firms of Rosenman & Colin and Sidley & Austin. Mr. Goldban received a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and a J.D. from Fordham Law School.
Peter Gray
Chief Operating Officer, Reverence Real Estate
Peter Gray is responsible for the management and operations of the portfolio. He oversees the asset management and property management teams, the physical due diligence and revenue and expense underwriting for potential acquisitions as well as the immediate and long-term capital improvement plans and asset repositioning strategies. Previously, Mr. Gray had been with Pembroke since 1994 and prior to that, was with Integrated Resources, Inc. Mr. Gray is a graduate of Manhattan College and Fordham University, where he received an MBA in Finance.
Jay Thailer
Chief Financial Officer, Reverence Real Estate
Jay Thailer is responsible for managing all accounting, tax compliance and financial reporting functions for Reverence Real Estate. Previously, Mr. Thailer had been with Pembroke since 1997, and became Chief Financial Officer of a Pembroke affiliate in 2001. Mr. Thailer left Pembroke in 2006 to join Capital Trust, Inc, a mortgage REIT, as Director of Accounting, and subsequently was Senior Vice President of RESIG, LLC, where his responsibilities included the outsourced CFO services for various private equity real estate funds and other real estate related entities. Mr. Thailer returned to Pembroke in 2015 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Thailer received his B.S. in Accounting from Bentley University.
Joshua Siegel
Director of Development, Reverence Real Estate
Joshua Siegel oversees all development projects, managing zoning and entitlement matters, project budgeting, procurement, design management, predevelopment and interagency coordination, neighbor and community relations, branding, and marketing through sale or lease-up. Mr. Siegel has over 20 years of experience in development, primarily in the multi-family area, and has developed more than 2 million square feet of multi-family properties and retail space. Mr. Siegel also has experience in complex repositionings and construction and has recently completed the development of a 200-unit multi-family residence in Brooklyn. Previously, Mr. Siegel had been with Pembroke since 2008 and prior to that, worked at Worldwide Group as the Director of Development and Acquisitions. Mr. Siegel received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Rafi Hovsepian
Director of Asset Management, Reverence Real Estate
Rafi Hovsepian is responsible for portfolio oversight for residential real estate in the New York metropolitan area. Previously, he has been with Pembroke since 2014, and prior to that worked in real estate asset and portfolio management at Sentinel Real Estate Corporation and ING Clarion. Mr. Hovsepian received a B.S. from NYU’s Stern School of Business and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
Ryan O’Connell
Assistant Vice President of Asset Management, Reverence Real Estate
Ryan O’Connell is responsible for asset management activities and strategic planning for portfolio of residential real estate in the New York metropolitan area. Previously he worked in real estate asset management at Silverstein Properties and Donahue Schriber Realty Group with experience across property types including office, life sciences, retail, and residential. Mr. O’Connell received a B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
Ryan Moorehead
Director of Property Management, Reverence Real Estate
Ryan Moorehad has been affiliated with Pembroke since 2019 acting as the CEO of Grenadier Realty Management LLC, Pembroke’s affiliated property management company, which currently manages or is in contract to manage in excess of 10,000 multifamily units in the New York metropolitan area. Mr. Moorehead has more than 15 years of multifamily experience with more than half of that time in a senior leadership capacity. Mr. Moorehead is a multifaceted executive known for his leadership of teams and facilitating change within an organization from affordable housing to large scale development projects in urban and suburban markets. He has worked for such notable firms as Parkchester Preservation, First Sterling Financial, AvalonBay and The Richman Group. Mr. Moorehead received a B.S. in Real Estate from New York University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Beau Fenske
Vice President, Asset Management and Commercial Real Estate Underwriting, Reverence Credit & Reverence Real Estate
Beau Fenske joined Reverence Capital in 2020 and has over 28 years of underwriting, structuring, and loan management experience. Prior to Reverence, he spent 22 years at Goldman Sachs where he most recently served as Vice President and Head of Asset Management, creating and developing the infrastructure, processes, and reporting regimen to manage the growth and credit quality of a portfolio of over $10 billion of CRE, residential, and consumer loans and warehouse lines in support of the Securities and Investment Banking divisions. Prior to this role, he spent over 15 years originating, underwriting, structuring, and managing commercial real estate loans for the Investment Banking division’s CMBS conduit and balance sheet lending businesses. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Fenske spent several years in the business banking unit of Norwest Bank lending to small and middle-market companies. Mr. Fenske received a BBA in Finance from Baylor University and an MBA from Texas Christian University.
John Wright
Director of Capital Partnering
John Wright joined Reverence Capital in 2024 as a Director of Capital Partnering. Prior to joining Reverence, Mr. Wright was a Principal and Co-Head of CA Capital Advisory at CA Ventures. Prior to CA Ventures, Mr. Wright served as Senior Managing Director for Kayne Anderson for more than eleven years, in addition to holding leadership roles at Saybrook Capital, Taylor Investment Advisors, Zweig-Dimenna and Credit Suisse. Mr. Wright brings more than twenty-five years of capital fundraising experience and a broad network of capital relationships. Mr. Wright earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kansas.
Matt Richards
Head of Investor Relations & Project Management - Credit and Real Estate
Matt Richards joined Reverence Capital in 2025. Prior to Reverence, Mr. Richards was a Director at TPG Angelo Gordon and the firm’s Head of Market Intelligence across their credit and real estate strategies. Prior to TPG Angelo Gordon, Mr. Richards was a Vice President at J.P. Morgan in various roles across asset management, investment banking, and commercial banking. Mr. Richards started his career covering U.S. and Hong Kong institutional clients at PIMCO. Mr. Richards received a B.S. in Management & Finance from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Jen Vance
Assistant Manager - Capital Partnering
Jen Vance joined Reverence Capital in 2023. Previously, Ms. Vance worked at Jefferies in the Private Funds Group as an Assistant Vice President. Her prior experience includes roles at The Blackstone Group, Imagineer Technology Group, and Guggenheim Partners. Ms. Vance received her B.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University Maryland.
