Reverence Real Estate was launched in 2024 and is an equity-oriented opportunistic / special situations real estate strategy that seeks to take advantage of the current market dislocation in fundamentally sound real estate assets with stressed capital structures / sellers. The strategy will focus primarily on investing in Special Situations (opportunistic equity investments in fundamentally sound assets) and may also make Stressed Debt (loans acquired from banks and non-bank lenders seeking to shore up balance sheets), and Structured Solutions (preferred equity or subordinate capital in real estate companies / assets with stressed capital structures) investments, with a primary investment focus in major metropolitan markets across residential and retail assets, and a secondary focus on hospitality, net lease and logistics assets.
The strategy is expected to leverage the 40-year operating experience of the vertically integrated Real Estate team, led by Lawrence J. Cohen, coupled with the benefits of the Reverence platform which include: (i) extensive relationships and knowledge across financial services, real estate, lending, consumer finance and specialty finance from the Reverence Private Equity and Reverence Credit teams and the Special Advisors, and (ii) extensive credit and structuring expertise of the Reverence Credit team and the Reverence Founders.
