Lon Dolber
Lon T. Dolber is the founder and former CEO and CIO of American Portfolios Financial Services, Inc. (APFS), a national independent broker/dealer (IBD) founded in 2001. As the CEO and CIO of APFS, Mr. Dolber has provided leadership and strategic thinking to support its affiliated advisors and their practices, and focused on developing technological and operational efficiencies within the business. In November 2022, Osaic (f/k/a Advisor Group) acquired American Portfolios Financial Services, Inc and Mr. Dolber served until December of 2024 as Vice Chairman for Osaic.
Mr. Dolber began his career in the financial services industry in New York City in 1979. By the early 1990s, he was the registered principal of one of the largest offices for an IBD based in the Midwest. In 1996, he transitioned his large Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) to Nathan & Lewis Securities, Inc. (NLS), expanding his OSJ while creating an infrastructure and technology designed by financial advisors for financial advisors, before ultimately founding APFS in 2001.
Under his leadership, APFS was named Broker/Dealer of the Year for six consecutive years starting in 2015 by Investment Advisor magazine and was ranked in the Top 10 Best Companies to Work for in New York State for 2016 - 2020 by the NYS-SHRM and the Best Companies Group.
Mr. Dolber has also supported the financial services industry by serving on the FINRA District Committee #10 (New York) and the FINRA Technology Committee. Mr. Dolber is deeply committed to Corporate Social Responsibility. He serves as the vice chairman for World T.E.A.M. (WT), and supports The Center for Discovery (The Center), Virtual Enterprises International, Inc. (VEI), Honor Flight Long Island, The Butterfly Effect Project, Westhampton Beach Performing Arts, Town Hall and L.I.F.E. Arts.
